Content marketing is the next big thing when it comes to promoting your website efficiently and connect with your potential customers. Producing high quality content marketing on regular basis is not always easy because you need inspiration to come up with original and interesting topics to write about to in order to bring more visitors to your website, generate more sales and, of course, count some more money at the end of the day.
Here is a list of the websites I use when I need ideas for content marketing:
1. Google Trends
If you want to be popular, you should definitely check what people care about right now. Writing about outdated topics won’t help anyone, so this tool will make sure that your time and energy are well managed. You should also keep in mind that writing about things that no one is looking for or with a small volume of searches is sometimes alright for not so popular personal blogs, but definitely not good for content marketing if the topic is not at least rising. Don’t forget that your goal is to attract more visitors to your website and fulfill a need, not to expose and promote your personality by writing about anything you want regardless of the environment and demand.
2. Quora
What is really nice about this website is that you can see the top stories, other blog posts, questions and answers and the thing I like the most – open questions. If you want to get more traffic, this is your chance to help someone that has publicly asked for help and come up with some really good content marketing that can boost the confidence in your company. Let them see your experience and your talent!
3. Reddit
Reddit well-known website allows you to see not only the hottest topics at the moment, but also the the topics that are rising. Sometimes you might see a successful meme – why don’t you do an article about it? Other times you really liked a particular idea in an article and you think that more things should have been said about it…why don’t you do it in your own article?
4. Google Keyword planner
This is THE TOOL to check your ideas. What do you want to write about? Search the keyword that you have in mind for your next post on this website and you will get a clear view of the monthly searches for it, how is competition like, an estimation of how much it would cost you to advertise it and related words so that you can choose the one that will meet both your creative mind and the public need. Another useful thing about this website is that you can filter your search and choose to visualize the global searches, the searches in your target country and language of your pick. This will help you create content marketing for specific geographical areas and target a more narrow group of potential customers.
5. Google Webmaster Tools
GWMT allows you to see which of your pages have the highest number of visitors and to check the most searched keywords used by your visitors among other features. All you need to do is to write more about the subjects that you made you famous, produce more of that original content marketing and let visitors come to you!
6. Delicious
Delicious help you discover new links that might consider useful. All you have to do after you sign up is to manage your subscriptions and when you click on Discover section you will only see links related to your subscriptions, which can be anything from technology to music and art. Finding something new and intriguing here that you could use for a good quality content marketing it’s a matter of a few minutes.
7. Stumbleupon
Stumbleupon is an addictive and amazing website – wonderful content of all types, from video to text and photos that you can see directly on the page by pressing just one button: the omniscient Stumble. The beauty of it is that you never know what to expect when you press this magic button, it’s a creativity trigger. You can also customize it and pick your area of interest, like or dislike what you see in order to get more or eliminate content similar to the previous one that you have been exposed to in this adventurous online trip. So when you need ideas for content marketing stumbleupon should not be forgotten as it’s not just useful, it’s also really fun and it can improve your overall state of mind which will increase your work efficiency.
8. Your mind.
I am sure that there are questions that no one dared to answer for one reason or another, so please do it! It might not be the best answer, but it will definitely not be overlooked when no else before you wrote anything relevant related to the matter, so even if not everyone will agree with you, your answer will be the spark for further discussions.
9. Groups and communities
If you are member of a group that deals with the general matter that you want to write about you can easily notice their questions, their frustrations, their interests. It doesn’t matter if your group is on google+, facebook, Linkedin or some local forum as long as you pay attention. Take advantage of this wonderful resource and create some useful content for your peers. Content marketing is all about sharing your knowledge.
10. Feedly
Feedly allows you to quickly subscribe and visualize the news and blogs that interest you. When you read hundreds of headlines ideas will simply flow towards you and all you need to do is to pick the best one. Using this tool is similar to going to a mall that you created – all your handpicked goodies in one place!
